2 things: 1.) Jerry mentions in his song Annandale that he was a bit uncomfortable making the song about him, and I feel the same way here, but it just seemed to work better if I used my own name. 2.) I'm using my own name AND trying to impersonate Levon Helm which makes no sense at all. again, it just seemed to work better like that. this one was triggered by Joe Farrell's email yesterday and Cillizza hacking away. I'm pretty sure we don't have a jingle specifically addressing Larry almost dying, so here ya go.

Robert Berg is the name
and I download in Pittsburgh, PA
it's been about 16 years
that I've been listening to TK
my favorite bits include the Heads draft
the Snackdown and the Bea Arthur crack
but January 19th of this year
is a show that I hold oh so dear

the time Larry King almost died on air
he was really coughin'
it sounded like a giant ball of hair
was strangling his uvula
he went *coughing sounds*

Larry caught his breath and kept babbling on
his talking compulsion's insane
but in just a few minutes time
we were back with the hacking refrain
then he started raving 'bout his son Chance
Sheehan and Cillizza looked askance
is this guy loopy on Sudafed?
"Why'd you name a kid Chance?" was the question that went unsaid

the time Larry King almost died on air
it was pretty repulsive
his bronchial tubes were in disrepair
but he just wouldn't stop talkin'
he went *more coughing sounds*

The year in review episode of the Prodcast was great. I was able to play it on a road trip with the woman related to me by marriage, and she was able to understand why the jingles were supposed to be smart. Now she understands. But this song in particular made her bellyache and cry with laughter. Makeup ruining tears. Is there a higher compliment?

Thanks Rob -- missed that episode and never bothered to go back and take a listen. Just did... not terribly disappointing but you're definitely right. Thanks again and great work on the songs.

January 19th. But the active feed on the show only goes back 3 months so you have to go listen to the podcast titled This Podcast Stinks on iTunes and I believe they have this episode available. But I think you will be disappointed. The lore of the interview has been mythologized and amplified WAY beyond what actually happened.

I'm now singing this song aloud at work and people are looking at me funny. Don't care. Genius is never understood in its time.

This one makes me spit up my salad. You are giving me a run for the money in the key of revolting.

They should air this one soon then. :) The combo of using your own name/details while impersonating someone else is completely amazing to me. That's the kinda stuff I can really get into.

As long as Larry King is still alive at the time they air this song, you're safe. :) Great job!
